Mayfield Road Reconstruction Day 1: How Was Your Commute?
The westbound lanes of Mayfield Road, between County Line and SOM Center roads, closed for the first day Monday

One day down, more than 100 to go.
Construction work began on the westbound lanes of Mayfield Road, between County Line and SOM Center roads Monday in Gates Mills. The Ohio Department of Transportation will resurface the road, add new curbing and replace underground pipes during the next four months.
To get to Interstate 271 or to Mayfield Heights, ODOT suggests taking Caves Road north to Wilson Mills/Brigham Road west and SOM south to Mayfield Road. Keep in mind that ODOT will allow access to Hillcrest Hospital via Old Mill Road west, Gates Mills Boulevard west and SOM north to the hospital entrance.

For the first month, access will also be allowed via Old Mill Road west, West Hill Road north and Mayfield Road west to the hospital entrance.
Did you take any of these routes on Monday or is there another one that makes more sense? What kind of wait did you experience?
