Mayfield School Board Honors CEVEC Student of the Month
Daija Allen was honored for good grades, attendance and an impressive school-work balance

The first sentence of Daija Allen's proclamation from the Mayfield Board of Education is a bit of an understatement.
Daija, named the Mayfield Board's student of the month for the Cuyahoga East Vocational Education Consortium, earned her honor for good grades, attendance and an impressive school-work balancing act.
The proclamation states that she is flexible, and for good reason — the senior attends Mayfield High School in the mornings and CEVEC during the afternoon. She interns at the Dave's Supermarket bakery twice a week; twice at Altercare of Mayfield Village twice a week; and once a week at Herman Textile.

"I couldn't even read all that."
Advisers and teachers described the student as a team player who will strive at all costs to finish a task.
"She may be quiet but she knows what it takes to get the job done,” her proclamation reads.
