Mayfield Schools Art Show Opens Sunday at Hillcrest Hospital

The Mayfield City School District/Mayfield Alliance 10th annual art show – "A Decade of Art" – will open with a reception from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Hillcrest Hospital, 6780 Mayfield Road.

The exhibit will run through May 6 and includes works by Chelsea Beck, the only student to have art displayed in all 10 shows, starting when she was 8 years old.

Chelsea, who has been drawing since she could hold a pencil, plans to major in illustration next fall at the Maryland Institute College of Arts. She has also be singing since sixth grade and held lead acting roles in Dearly Beloved, Rabbit Hole, Seussical the Musical and Fame.

More than 300 students in kindergarten through 12th grade will have works in the exhibit, which will be displayed in the atrium at Hillcrest Hospital.
