Mayfield Village Honors Retiring Human Services Director

Council passed a resolution of appreciation to Eunice Kalina for almost 25 years of service to the village.

As director of human services, she has been responsible for providing seniors were programs, activities, trips and social services. Kalina also served on the Commission on Aging and was a member of the Hillcrest Meals on Wheels Board of Trustees.

"It's always a bittersweet time at the end of the year. We seem to reflect on transitions," Mayor Bruce Rinker said before presenting Kalina with the resolution at Monday's council meeting.

Kalina, who will retire at the end of the year, said she had mixed emotions about leaving.

"I've made a lot of good friends over the years," she said.
