Mayfield Village, Progressive Insurance Combine to Plant Trees
Parkview Drive project hoped to be start of annual event
Mayfield Village and Progressive Insurance are cooperating on a beautification project to add trees along Parkview Drive and North Commons Boulevard.
Village Service Director Douglas Metzung said he meet with Progressive Insurance officials last fall and started talking about projects they could work on together and decided to start by planting trees along Parkview.
"They took it from there and they really developed and worked it out," Metzung said. "Brian Smith of Progressive landscaping has been wonderful to work with."
Plans are to plant 30 trees, including varieties of oak and elm, along with dawn redwood and weeping willow. Progressive will pay the $4,278 cost and planting is scheduled for May 12.
"Hopefully this becomes a yearly event and we look forward to working with them," Metzung said.
