Mayfield Village Rejects Income Tax Bill
Village council officially opposed Ohio House Bill 5 which would create a uniform income tax process.

Mayfield Village officials made it pretty clear how they feel about Ohio House Bill 5.
On March 18 the council passed legislation to formally oppose the bill which would make income tax process more uniform, as explained by The Plain Dealer.
Finance Director Ronald Wynne said the city could lose around $36,000 if the bill is passed.

"There are pieces of this that RITA is trying to analyze for all its municipalities that we will eventually get numbers on," Wynne said.
These changes to the income tax system would come in the form of unfunded mandates and contribute to a "substantial loss of revenue" according to the offical legislation.
