Parks and Recreation Director William Thomas said this year's Santa Ride through town had a record-breaking response.
owner Fritz Quagliata donated 465 popcorn balls, 350 of which were given out during the ride, with the rest taken to the party at the Community Room.
"That's a lot of popcorn balls," Thomas said.
However, an Eastgate Drive resident called Thomas because they missed Santa's visit and her son was disappointed. So Thomas arranged for the boy to not only get a popcorn ball, but a tour of the village's fire station.
"The kids was ecstatic," he said.
Thomas said Auxiliary Patrolman Ken Mott, who drove ahead of the fire truck carrying Santa, and driver Jason Brothers, a part-time fireman, were instrumental in making the event a success.
