Police Arrest Suspect in Car Break-Ins
Highland Heights woman spotted man in neighbor's car

police arrested a man suspected of breaking into cars.
Frank Sciaulino, 20, of South Euclid was arrested at 3:41 a.m. Sunday at Ridgebury Boulevard and Cranbrook Drive in Mayfield Heights. Highland Heights police alerted area police departments about the suspect's car, which was stopped by Mayfield Heights police.
Highland Heights Police Chief James Cook said Sciaulino has been charged with theft from auto, criminal trespassing and delinquency of a minor and is being held in Highland Heights Jail on $554 bond. Cook said he could not provide information about the driver of the car, a 17-year-old girl.
Cook said Sciaulino will likely face multiple counts of the charges, as police are investigating to determine which incidents are connected to him. Highland Heights, Mayfield Heights and Mayfield Village have all reported recent incidents involving thefts from cars.
"I'm not going to speculate about that," Cook said about whether Schiaulino was a suspect in break-ins in other communities.
In the most recent incident, police were called at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday by a Ransome Road woman who saw the suspect in a neighbor's car, police said.
"That was a good break. Even better, she called police," said Cook, who emphasized that residents should call police immediately when they see something suspicious.
As was the case with other recent incidents, the car on Ransome was not locked. Cook urged residents to lock cars and close garage doors.
