Police Blotter: Attempted Break-in Reported on Worton
Information supplied by the Mayfield Heights Police Department

A Worton Boulevard woman thought she heard someone trying to break into her house through a basement window at 3:40 a.m. July 6. Police checked and a screen had been lifted. However, the window was locked and nothing was damaged. A neighbor was awake and told police they did not hear or see anything out of the ordinary.
A caller at 7:39 p.m. July 6 said someone was loading landscaping rocks from a vacant house into a vehicle on Ashcroft Drive. The suspect was gone when police arrived.
A woman called police at 5:25 p.m. July 5 after her boyfriend kicked her out of the house on Roselawn Road. She said he slapped her and she was bleeding, but she didn't want medical attention. All she wanted was to be able to get her belongings. Police said the woman got her stuff and left with her father.
A Temple Avenue woman called police at 12:31 a.m. July 5 and said occupants of a white Hummer threw a large firecracker at children and it left a hole in the ground. Police were unable to find the suspects.
Maple Heights police called at 2:58 a.m. July 5 and said a suspect in a shooting was arrested and said he threw the .38-caliber gun in a grassy area off Interstate 271 between Cedar and Mayfield roads. Police checked, but were unable to find the gun.
