A Parker Drive resident was called April 14 by a woman in Las Vegas who told the resident she had won some money. However, she would have to pay the taxes in order to collect. The resident said that the woman suggested she call police and advise them of the situation. She did so and said she was nervous and afraid because her wallet had been stolen recently. She didn't provide the woman who called her with any personal information and did not send any money. Police told her to call back if she was contacted again.
A caller on April 17 said water was running in the basement of a Washington Boulevard home that has been vacant for two years. Police said the water was secured.
Winds blew over 35 mph signs at 2:11 p.m. April 17 on Mayfield Road.
A suspicious man was pulling on the door handle of the entrance to city hall at 10:46 p.m. April 16. He told police he was checking out the location where his brother had been in an accident.
An intoxicated woman asked for help at 10:14 p.m. April 16 on Woodhurst Avenue. Police checked and no one was home. The woman called back said her sister was supplying alcohol to underage friends of her son and they were hiding when police arrived. At 10:26 p.m., another caller said his mother was intoxicated and a rescue squad was needed. The woman was taken to Hillcrest Hospital.
A woman said she was exiting a parking lot on Golden Gate Boulevard at 10:02 p.m. April 16 when a car went into her lane and hit her car. The suspect didn't stop and headed southbound on Interstate 271.
A Larchmont Drive woman called at 2:22 p.m. April 16 after finding a tape recorder in her apartment. She thought it had been planted there while she was gone.
A caller at 12:15 p.m. April 16 said a car with an infant and a young child was left running for a half hour at Hillcrest Hospital. Police told the driver it was not OK to leave a 13-year-old boy in charge of a running vehicle in the fire lane for 35 minutes.
A strong odor of marijuana was reported at 12:21 a.m. April 16 at a Marsol Road apartment building. Police detected a slight odor of marijuana but were unable to determine the source.
Employees caught a boy shoplifting $39 worth of merchandise at 4:37 p.m. April 15 at a Golden Gate Boulevard store. The boy was picked up by his mother, who was told he was banned from the store for two years.
Three women were caught shoplifting at 3:55 p.m. April 15 at a Mayfield Road store. All three were arrested.
A deer was hit on Interstate 271 and a caller told police at 6:53 a.m. April 15 that the animal was still alive and was just north of Mayfield Road. Police said the animal was put down.
A Parker Drive man called at 7:18 a.m. April 14 and said an iPod and radar detector were taken out of his car overnight.
Two cars were broken into overnight on Parker Drive, a resident reported at 8:13 a.m. April 14. A handgun was stolen from one of the cars.
A Fox Hollow Court woman called police at 1:42 p.m. April 13 after getting a call from someone claiming to be in the Dominican Republic. She was told that her grandson was in custody because drugs were found in his car and she should send money for his bail. The woman told police that she asked a lot of questions and did not cooperate or send money.
A man called April 11 and said he just moved into a Parker Drive house and neighbors told him that the house used to have a lot of drug deals going on. The man said that someone came to his house the previous night and started asking questions, such as who owned it and whether it was going to be available to rent.
