Police Blotter: Boy Walking on Wilson Mills Caught with Marijuana

A caller said three boys were smoking marijuana while walking at 8:03 p.m. Feb. 27 on Wilson Mills Road. Mayfield Heights police caught up with the suspects and said they have had extensive run-ins with the caller regarding marijuana. Police said one boy was released to his mother and charges will be filed regarding possession of marijuana.

Citywide flooding problems were reported on Feb. 28, including water on Wilson Mills Road near the high school. Excessive water was lifting the sewer lid at Progressive Drive and Wilson Mills Road. Barricades were needed at White and SOM Center roads and at North Commons and White Road.

A strange odor was reported coming from the boiler room at Center Elementary School at 7:39 a.m. Feb. 22. Police said there was a slight elevation in the gas reading, probably due to sewer gas or a battery.

A suspicious person was reported at 11:23 p.m. Feb. 22 in a hospital parking lot on SOM Center Road. Police said the person was an employee who enjoys photography and was taking pictures of ice on branches.

A gold car spun out and hit the wall at 2:04 p.m. Feb. 25 on Interstate 271 northbound near Wilson Mills Road. Police said the driver was OK and arranged for a tow.
