Police Blotter: Brakes Failed on Car in Accident

An accident was reported at 9:16 p.m. Aug. 17 on Bishop Road at Kenbridge. Another person reported that a car had been drag racing and pulled out on Bishop into oncoming traffic. Police said there was no apparent drag racing and the accident was caused because a car lost its brakes.

Police were told at 1:08 a.m. Aug. 18 that a car was in the parking lot of a Wilson Mills Road business for two weeks. The red Mustang had a flat tire and an air bag was missing.

An officer discovered a window left open on a truck at 3:12 a.m. on Westmill Drive. There was also football equipment in the truck's bed. A note was left for the owner.

An open garage door was spotted at 4:20 a.m. Aug. 18 on Stonehaven Drive.

A caller from South Applecross at 11:41 a.m. Aug. 17 said a suspicious man was carrying ladders around his uncle's home. Police checked and the man did repair work earlier in the year that the resident was not satisfied with, so he returned to correct the problems.

A Belwood Avenue woman called at 2:38 p.m. Aug. 17 about a raccoon problem. She said a shed had some gaps in it where the animals were getting in.
