Police Blotter: Bus Fans Made Caller Suspicious

A suspicious person was near the tennis courts on Wilson Mills Road at 11:18 a.m. Aug. 21 in a car that looked like a police car but wasn't. Police said the driver and another man said they were walking and taking pictures of buses because they are bus enthusiasts. Police advised them to leave.
A caller saw four people all dressed in dark clothing duck out of sight off the road when the caller's car passed at 10:25 p.m. Aug. 22 at Hardwood Court and Wilson Mills Road. Police came across seven girls out on a scavenger hunt who were dressed in black. Police took the girls to one of their houses.
A Bramblewood Lane resident wanted children advised not to use his swing set anymore because they are damaging his property. Police spoke with the children's mother and she said her children would comply, but that other children who gather at her house also play at the swing set.
A truck driver stopped a semi on the right side of Interstate 271 northbound at 9:18 p.m. Aug. 19. He told police he stopped because his driving time ran out and he needed to find a safe place to rest.
A car was in the woods by the Parkview Pool parking lot at 12:28 p.m. Aug. 19. The car appeared to have jumped a curb. Police cited the car's owner for reckless operation on private property.
A woman had trouble making it to a job interview on Aug. 19. She was at Beta Drive and Wilson Mills Road waiting for a bus at 9:27 a.m. and was unaware that the bus did not run all day and the next bus wasn't due until 3:30 p.m. Police helped her out by driving her to Mayfield and SOM Center roads.
A Lander Road resident was frustrated and called police at 8:08 p.m. Aug. 18 to complain about the way people were parking off the Lander Road drive to the high school. Several drivers told police they were told they could ignore signs because of the construction. Officers told them that police were not part of that agreement and they would be cited in the future.
