Police Blotter: Caller Concerned Chips Might Be Stolen

A caller told police that a delivery truck at the Civic Center bus ramp had a door wide open at 9:23 a.m. Sept. 25. Police tried to shut the door, but it didn't lock and the cargo area was filled with boxes of potato chips.

A broken down Dodge truck was parked in the Mayfield High School lot overnight on Sept. 25. The owner was told that police would not give him permission to keep it there and he would need to move it immediately if the school complained.

A woman told a maintenance man at a Stratford Court building that she saw a man who was acting strange and looking for something in the window areas around the garage on Sept. 25. Police were asked to pay special attention to the area.

A caller at 3:19 p.m. Sept. 25 told police that a motorcycle hit a car at SOM Center Road and Ridgebury Boulevard. Police said the motorcycle did not hit a car, but the rider was weaving in and out of traffic. Police talked to him about reckless operation.

Police were told about a possible drunken driver at 2:13 a.m. Sept. 25 heading northbound on Interstate 271. The driver was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence. Police also had a squad sent to the man's apartment for his 4-year-old son, who was vomiting.
