Police Blotter: Chipmunks, Raccoon Taking Residence

A two-car accident was reported at 5:48 a.m. Feb. 22 at Miner and Highland roads. One person had an ankle injury, but did not want treatment. Police cited a driver for full time and attention.
An Eastlawn Drive resident called at 11:24 a.m. Feb. 21 and said there were chipmunks living in a crawlspace. Greg Miller Animal Control was contacted about the problem.
A caller said a car ran off the roadway and was in a ditch at 11:56 p.m. Feb. 20 off the southbound lanes of Interstate 271. The car turned out to be in Mayfield Village.
A man was taking pallets from behind an Alpha Drive business at 9:53 p.m. Feb. 19. He told police the owner gave him permission. Police checked and confirmed that was the case.
A real estate agent told police at 9:10 a.m. Feb. 18 that a house on Dornach Lane had been burglarized overnight. A dishwasher and other items were taken.
An injured deer was walking through a yard at 9:55 a.m. Feb. 17 on Sandhurst Drive. The animal was gone when police arrived.
An East Glengary Circle resident saw a man in an older Buick cruising down the street at 1:45 p.m. Feb. 17. He pulled into another driveway, but did not get out of his car, and then followed the caller to a doughnut shop. Police told the caller to report anything suspicious like that right away so an officer can check what the person is doing in the neighborhood.
A Ford Road resident said a 2:43 p.m.. Feb. 14 that a raccoon was living under her deck and trying to get inside the house.
