Police Blotter: Deer are Hazards for Motorists

Two men were eating at a Wilson Mills Road restaurant at about 10 p.m. April 13 and one walked out without paying his $6.30 bill. The other man paid his share, but refused to give the name of the man who left. Police found the other man outside and the bill was paid.

A car hit a deer at 1:53 a.m. April 13 in the southbound lanes of Interstate 271 at Highland Road. The deer was moved to the berm and the Ohio Department of Transportation was contacted.

Multiple callers saw a car hit a deer at 2:23 p.m. April 12 on Wilson Mills Road. The car did not stop. The animal was killed and service department workers were called to pick it up.

A burglary was reported at 5:31 p.m. April 12 on West Glengary.

A Highland Heights girl was reported missing at 5:45 p.m. April 10. The next day, a person came to the station with information about the girl's whereabouts and police contacted authorities in Niagara County, NY. A car was sent to check an address for the girl.

A man said a shop vac fell out of his truck at about 6:30 a.m. on Alpha Drive. He went back to pick it up and someone in a red Toyota had already taken it.

A man used a counterfeit $10 bill at 4:06 p.m. April 8 at an Alpha Drive drug store.
