Police Blotter: Deer Wouldn't Let People Near Fawn Hit by Car

Information supplied by the Mayfield Heights Police Department

A passerby said a fawn appeared to have been hit by a car and was dragging its back legs at 1:34 a.m. Aug. 28 at Ridgebury Boulevard and Elmwood Road. The fawn was lying on the ground and its mother would not let police come near the animal. Service department workers were told that the fawn would have to be picked up.

A Golden Gate Boulevard woman said she returned home at 10:55 p.m. Aug. 27 to find that someone had broken in.

A Golden Gate Boulevard resident came home at 7:45 p.m. Aug. 26 to find a burnt piece of paper under the door. Police spoke to a boy, who handed over a lighter and was told to stop setting things on fire.

A Sunset Road resident called at 7:37 p.m. Aug. 25 and complained that due to construction on Mayfield Road cars were "flying" down Sunset. Police said an officer was on the street at the time and didn't see any speeding violations.
