Police Blotter: Downed Power Line Closed Chagrin River Road

Power lines were sparking and smoking at 3:56 p.m. April 23 in the area of Chagrin River and Sherman roads, a caller reported. Police and fire personnel went to the scene and saw a power line across the board, which was closed while Illuminating Company workers made repairs. The road was opened again at 4:53 p.m.
An accident was reported at 5:30 p.m. April 23 on County Line Road. There were no injuries in the two-car crash. A 39-year-old Denver man was cited for failing to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.
A Dorchester Road resident called 911 at 10:57 p.m. April 26 and said he was awakened by suspicious noises. Officers checked the area but did not find anything out of the ordinary.

An adminstrator from lower school called at 9:16 a.m. April 27 about a suspicious man on the property. The 48-year-old man was from West Salem and said he was homeless and looking for a place to warm up. He was arrested for a warrant from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
