Police Blotter: Driver Arrested After Going in Wrong Lane on Miner

A caller at 8:32 p.m. Feb. 11 said a car was traveling in the wrong lane on Miner Road and went through a red light. Police stopped the car on Wilson Mills Road near SOM Center Road and the driver was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence. There also was a warrant for his arrest from Mayfield Heights.
A car spun out into a snow bank between the local and express lanes on Interstate 271 at 8:16 a.m. Feb. 13. The incident occurred in Willoughby Hills and a tow truck was on the scene.
A woman came into the Highland Heights police station at 10:32 p.m. Feb. 12 and was distraught. She said a man pushed her down and tried to kiss her on Wilson Mills Road across from Home Depot. Although the house is in Mayfield Village, she was too upset to go to another police station. An officer took her complaint and a man was arrested and charged with assault.
There was a 911 hangup call at 11:25 a.m. Feb. 10 from a Beta Drive business. A receptionist told police that a new phone system was being installed. The call came from a fire department employee who said he misdialed and hung up.
An 84-year-old woman called 911 at 6:59 p.m. Feb. 8 and said she was at Eastgate Shopping Center and needed a ride back to Maple Heights. A check on the phone number showed the call was coming from Maple Heights. A Maple Heights officer went to her house to check on the woman and she was fine.
