Police Blotter: Legs Were Tipoff Deer was Dead

A caller at 8:54 a.m. Jan. 6 said a dead deer was in a South Woodlane Drive yard. She could tell it was dead because its legs were up in the air. She said the deer had been there for a couple of days. Police called the animal warden about the deer.

A garage door was open with the light on at 1:55 a.m. Jan. 7 at a Wilson Mills Road residence. A dispatcher called and left a message for the resident.

A car was in a ditch at 6:23 p.m. Jan. 6 at SOM Center and Wilson Mills roads. The car was towed and the driver was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence. Police also talked to a homeowner who had damage done to his yard.

A Metro Park Drive man reported at 1:32 p.m. Jan. 6 that someone called his house claiming to be from Social Security and needing his Social Security number and bank account number. He did not give the caller any information, but wanted police to know about the incident. Police also called the number back and said it was a false number.

A domestic dispute was reported at 7:10 p.m. Jan. 4 by the bridges on Wilson Mills Road. A woman took the keys to a car and left it on the road. Police found the woman, who said she didn't know where the keys were, and arranged for a tow.
