Police Blotter: Man Told to Hand Over $25,000 Or Life Would Be Hard

A Mayfield Road resident came to the police station at 5:37 p.m. Feb. 21 to report that he was threatened by a woman he used to date. She was with a man and told the former boyfriend to give her $25,000 or his life would be hard. The man then pulled a gun. He said the incident happened at 1 a.m. and he waited to report it because he was nervous. He then decided not to pursue the matter.
A Worton Boulevard resident called at 4:02 p.m. Feb. 22 and reported getting a letter in the mail that he won money. The bank stopped the check because it was fraudulent.
Two men were fighting outside at 3:36 p.m. Feb. 22 in the parking lot of Walmart at SOM Center and Mayfield roads. A woman told police that another man was assaulting her boyfriend over an altercation.
A man reported finding a passport in a treelawn on Lander Road at 7:44 a.m. Feb. 22. He brought the passport to the police station and an officer gave it back to a Sunset Road resident.
The manager of Dunkin' Donuts on Mayfield Road was having a problem at 1:37 a.m. Feb. 22 with a customer who was using his mother's credit card without her permission to buy a gift card. The manager called the mom, who wanted the cards confiscated. Police picked up the credit card and the woman came to the station to get it back.
A woman called at 12:08 p.m. Feb. 20 after being approached while getting into her car at Rite Aid on SOM Center Road. She said two men about 25 years old asked for a ride and stood very close to her, which made her feel threatened. The suspects were gone when police checked.
