Police Blotter: Man Wants Girlfriend to Return Borrowed Car

A Hickory Lane resident came to the police station at 8:26 a.m. Jan. 10 to file a report about an unauthorized use of a car. He said his girlfriend borrowed his car about a month ago and hadn't returned it since. An officer called the girlfriend, who agreed to bring the car back.

A Brigham Road resident called police at 4:16 p.m. Jan. 11 about annoying phone calls she has been receiving in the evening since November.

An accident was reported at 8:54 p.m. Jan. 11 on Chagrin River Road. Police said a car went off the road and hit a tree. The driver, an 85-year-old Mayfield Village man, was taken to Hillcrest Hospital. He was charged with failing to maintain reasonable control of his car.
