Police Blotter: Man Wearing Stocking Cap Tried to Break Into Car

A Bishop Road resident called police at 3:03 a.m. Jan. 25 after seeing a man in the backyard trying to get into a car belonging to the caller's niece. Then man was wearing a stocking cap. Police said the car had been unlocked and a GPS device was stolen. Officers were unable to find the suspect.

An East Inverness woman called at 7:47 p.m Jan 25 to report that her son's wallet was taken from an unlocked car.

A carbon monoxide detector was sounding at 3:48 a.m. Jan. 25 and telling a resident to leave a Renee Drive home. The house checked OK.

A woman called at 4:29 p.m. Jan. 25 after noticing a garage door that had been smashed in on Colony Drive. Police checked and said a resident drove through the door and was having it repaired.

An employee at Mulligan's said his car had been keyed sometime between Jan. 22 and 9 a.m. Jan. 23.

A caller reported being behind a UPS truck that was leaking diesel fuel at 10:20 p.m. Jan. 23 on Shetland Court. There was a line of fuel on the road leading to the UPS facility. Police said a substance was placed on the road to soak up the spill.
