Police Blotter: Passed Out Driver Arrested After Parking on Lawn

A person delivering newspapers noticed a car parked on a lawn at 4:32 a.m. Aug. 7 at Hunt Circle and Aintree Park Drive. The driver was intoxicated and had passed out. Police arrested him for operating a vehicle under the influence.
Apparently driver's licenses frequently get lost at gas stations. The cashier at a Wilson Mills Road gas station called police at 8:56 p.m. Aug. 6 to hand over several driver's licenses that people lost at the business.
A man stole $155.72 in groceries from Heinen's on Aug. 5. He wanted to pay with a starter check and get money back, but was refused. He then left; however, he had placed his cart at parcel pickup and drove up and had employees load the groceries in his car. Police learned the man's identity and a warrant was issued.
A caller was dog-sitting on Kenwood Drive and the dog ran away at 8:54 a.m. Aug. 5. The German shepherd was found on Thornapple Drive and returned to the caller.
A 40-foot section of a tree fell on a Worton Park Drive house on Aug. 1. Police notified the homeowner, who was already aware of the problem.
