Police Blotter: Pregnant Raccoon Found on Patio

A resident at a Mayfield Road apartment building called at 5:28 p.m. April 29 because there was a raccoon on his patio. Police told him to leave it alone and it would leave. He then said he thought it might be pregnant, so police had the animal warden respond to the scene.
A group of people skipped out on the bill at 12:28 a.m. May 2 at a Golden Gate Plaza restaurant. The manager gave police a license plate number, but police were unable to find the car. He decided not to file a report. The loss was about $30.
A Ridgebury Boulevard man called at 7:24 a.m. May 1 because a visitor to a neighbor's house sped out of the driveway and hit a car belonging to the caller's sister. Police caught the suspect at 7:53 a.m. and arrested him for leaving the scene of an accident.
A woman called from Mallard Drive at 12:49 p.m. May 1 and said she had been fighting all day with her 14-year-old son, who was now ripping things off the walls. Police talked to the pair, who agreed to work things out.
A Chardon man came to the police station at 8:16 p.m. May 1 because he received an instant message on Facebook from a friend who said she was going to kill herself. Police contacted the woman's mother and eventually reached the woman, who said she made some comments she shouldn't have made, wasn't feeling well and was just going to bed for the night.
A SOM Center Road man reported at 6:19 a.m. April 30 that his car had been stolen. Police told him that it had been towed and repossessed.
A caller said a "mad man" was tearing up a Worton Boulevard yard with his car at 2:18 a.m. April 30. The man was arrested for property damage.
A caller at 6:40 p.m. April 28 said unruly juveniles were playing kickball and running into the street whenever a car came by at Elmwood and Edgewood roads.
A Belrose Road resident said at 6:35 a.m. April 28 that a neighbor's tree fell onto her house and car. She was told to contact their insurance company to handle the matter.
A prisoner was moved to another cell at 4:21 p.m. April 27 because there was a large amount of ants in a cell. An exterminator was called to handle the problem.
A caller said people were drag racing motorcycles at 12:13 a.m. April 27 at a Mayfield Road apartment building. An officer sat in the lot for a while and did not see the motorcyclists.
An Elmwood Road resident called at 10:59 a.m. April 26 because people were throwing trash down storm drains and she was concerned that the drains would be clogged and cause damage.
A Marsol Road woman called at 10:54 p.m. April 25 because her husband was hitting her. The man was arrested for domestic violence.
A Marnell Avenue woman said at 9:55 p.m. April 25 that her 10-year-old son went out with his uncle and bought a BB gun. She found it and tossed it in the trash, which upset the boy and he was threatening her. Police talked to the boy and everyone was happy with that.
