Police Blotter: Raccoons are Making the Rounds

Richmond Heights police called at 6:17 a.m. May 4 to get an officer to check on the welfare of a man who was slumped over the wheel of a white maintenance truck on Wilson Mills Road since 4:20 a.m. Richmond Heights police called back five minutes later and said the man woke up and got out of his truck.
A sick raccoon was reported at 10:58 a.m. May 4 on Franklin Boulevard.
A caller at 1:03 p.m. May 4 said there was a sick raccoon sitting alongside a house on Radford Drive. An officer checked and the animal was fine, but was sitting there and the resident wanted to leave. Another check was done at 2:18 p.m. and the raccoon was gone.
A service department worker told police at 4:02 p.m. May 3 that a Mayfield Heights resident called him about a missing cat. He said the cat was black and had short hair and asked that the service department be called if it was found.
A suspicious man was picking through trash at 7:08 a.m. May 2 in the area of Highland Road and Strumbly Drive. The man had a white truck with blue sides.
An Alpha Drive store received a counterfeit $5 bill on May 2.
A groundskeeper at Stonewater Golf Club found some coins on a fairway and called at 7:44 a.m. May 1 because he thought they might be related to a burglary a week earlier.
A resident complained at 4:43 p.m. April 30 about juveniles driving ATVs between Eastlawn Drive and Ford Road. The caller said the boys were loud and were tearing down trees. Police said the boys' parents were not home and a note was left for them to call.
Three juveniles broke out a window at 10:14 p.m. April 29 on Colony Drive. A juvenile was caught on Oakview Drive. He had cuts on his hand and was taken to Hillcrest Hospital.
