Police Blotter: Ravenna Man Hits Tree on SOM Center

Police were called at 6:38 a.m. April 16 about an accident in the area of SOM Circle. The car involved in the accident had been abandoned before officers arrived. Police said the car was heading northbound on SOM Center Road when it went off the road and hit a traffic sign and a tree. The driver, a 21-year-old Ravenna man, was not injured. He was charged with failure to control and leaving the scene of an accident.

A Rocky River woman came into the police station at 8:31 p.m. April 16 to file a theft report. She said she was at an athletic event at Gilmour Academy and someone stole her wallet.

A Saddleback Lane resident came to the Gates Mills Police Department at 3:06 p.m. April 14 to file a misuse of credit card report.  She said that in July 2010 some unknown person fraudulently used her credit card to make several purchases.
