Police Blotter: Resident said Speed Trailer has Cars Going Faster

A Turnberry Lane woman called at 1:30 p.m. June 8 to report that a speed trailer set up in the area was not slowing drivers. She said that if anything they were going faster. Police set up a speed detail and did not see any violations.

A Miner Road resident complained at 6:18 p.m. June 8 about a neighbor who continually runs construction equipment after 6 p.m. Police said no officers were available to immediately check. No equipment was being operated when an office went to the area at 6:50 p.m.

Air conditioning was not working and the dispatch center was at more than 80 degrees at 8:52 p.m. June 8.

A brown and black left-handed baseball mitt was found at 9:53 p.m. June 8 at Highland Heights Community Park.

A 3-year-old boy wearing pajamas and snow boots was seen walking dogs at 9:34 a.m. June 8 on Highland Road. The woman who called police said she asked the boy where he lived and who was supposed to be watching him and he pointed to a house. Police checked and said an adult was home and supervising the child.

Three cars were broken into overnight in a driveway on Cheriton Drive, a resident reported at 10:48 a.m. June 8.

Power lines were down and there was a large electrical fire at 3:04 p.m. June 8 in a ditch on Miner Road. Several 911 callers reported the problem. Utility workers were on the scene at 4:31 p.m.
