Police Blotter: Residents Get Notes About Open Garages

Community Policing Initiative cards were left at several residences between 1:30-3 a.m. Sept. 1 for open garage doors and unlocked cars. Notes were left on Hanford, Davidson, Belwood, Eastlawn, Cranbrook, Hawthorne, Lassiter and Muirfield drives.
A DE Legend Court woman called police at 11:21 p.m. Aug. 31 and said a man had come to her door and rang the doorbell three or four times. He was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and had gray hair, she said. Police said the man might had beveen trying to serve the woman's ex-husband with legal papers. She was advised to call if he returned.
A woman stole shirts, jewelry and underwear, a Kohl's loss prevention officer told police at 12:53 p.m. Aug. 31. The woman was stopped on Wilson Mills Road and arrested.
The manager of Discount Drug Mart on Alpha Drive received a counterfeit $10 bill at 3:35 p.m. Aug. 31. The customer who paid with the bill talked to police and might have received the bill at a bank in Willoughby Hills.
