Police Blotter: Routine Patrol Prompts Unusual Call

A Timerberline Trail woman came to the police station at 7:45 p.m. Feb. 12 demanding to know why a police cruiser was in front of her home. When told that the officer was probably making routine checks, she replied that wasn't the case and he was parked there for several minutes. A dispatcher checked with the officer, who was making rounds. The dispatcher told the caller that information, but the woman continued to demand to know what the issue was and said she was going to call the mayor and police chief.
A person involved in a hit-skip accident at Beta Drive and Wilson Mills Road at 6:48 p.m. Feb. 7 was honking and trying to get the attention of the other driver, but the person drove away.
A Woodlane Drive resident wanted to file a report Feb. 8 about obscene photos she was receiving on her cell phone. An officer with a camera took the report.
An accident was reported at 10:40 p.m. Feb. 10 on Wilson Mills Road involving a car that had front end damage. There was also damage to a mailbox. The driver left the car and was picked up by police at Wilson Mills and Beta Drive. He was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence. The man told police he has terminal cancer and only about 30 to 60 days to live.
