Police Blotter: Shaking Hands Misinterpreted at Store

Security told police at 1:41 p.m. Sept. 5 that a man was masturbating in the magazine section of a SOM Center Road store. Several witnesses gave statements to police. The suspect was described as a white man in his 60s, with a ponytail. He was with a woman and possibly left the area in a black Pacifica. The man told police that he has Parkinson's disease and his hands shake. He said he might have had his hands in his pockets and witnesses assumed what he was doing.

A caller reported a possible drunken driver at 10:04 p.m. Sept. 5 at Marsol and Chelmsford roads. The man, described as being in his mid-30s, also asked the caller if he wanted to have sex.

Temple Avenue residents called at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 5 after receiving text messages from their son. He sent a message that said he hated them. Police said no threats were made and the parents were advised to call if he showed up.

A Chelmsford Road woman who is moving brought a cat to the police station at 12:59 p.m. Sept. 4. She said the cat has been hanging around her house and she didn't want to leave it there.

A Ranchland Drive resident called police at 3:09 a.m. Sept. 4 and said he was leaving for work and saw a man passed out and lying in the apartment building parking lot. Officers helped the man into his apartment. Police said he had a large amount of cash in his pocket.
