Police Blotter: Someone Did a Little Outdoor Redecorating on Ranchland

A Ranchland Drive resident called police at 5:44 a.m. July 13 and said someone took a lawn mower out of the garage and left it in the front yard. Also, lawn chairs were put on top of a neighbor's car.

A Mayfield Road apartment building was being evacuated at 1:04 a.m. July 14 because of a firm alarm. The cause turned out to be a faulty smoke detector in the building's basement.

Two patio chairs were stolen overnight, a Ranchland Drive resident reported at 4:56 p.m. July 13.

Water coming out of a sewer grate was flooding back yards at 8:46 a.m. July 13 on Miner Road. The Cleveland Water Department was advised of the situation.

A woman called at 8:58 a.m. July 13 and said her son was riding his bicycle to work when two teenagers started chasing him and tried to take his bike at Ridgebury Boulevard and West Miner Road. Police checked, but did not see the suspects.

A party was going on at 11:57 p.m. July 11 on Sunset Road and a caller suspected there was underage drinking involved. Police said about six or seven people were in a garage playing guitar and agreed to go inside for the evening.
