Police Blotter: Suspicious Men Just Said Hello to Children

A caller at 1:51 p.m. Nov. 6 said two men in their 20s in an older silver car were staring at children who were playing on Commonwealth Avenue. An officer talked to the men, who had stopped to take pictures of different things on the street and showed the officer the photos on their cell phones. They said they had no contact with the children other than saying hello.
A prisoner was running against the jail door at 1 p.m. Nov. 6 in an apparent attempt to injure herself. She was placed in the detox cell for her protection.
Two women and a man were making threats to employees at 1:45 p.m. Nov. 6 at Target on SOM Center Road. They were told not to return to the store and to take their complaint to the corporate headquarters.
Mayfield Village police called at 12:14 p.m. Nov. 6 after being told about an overturned car in the parking lot behind Mayfield Middle School on SOM Center Road. The car was towed and the driver was taken to Hillcrest Hospital. Police said a pole was knocked over and wires were exposed.
A caller said a 12-year-old kid jumped out in front of their car and started dancing at 9:44 p.m. Nov. 5 on Bonnie Lane. The caller left the area and police stopped checking for the suspect to answer a disturbance call.
