Police Blotter: Thief in Blue Van is a Regular at Store

Information supplied by the Mayfield Heights Police Department.

A caller said a blue van pulled up to Toys R Us on SOM Center Road at 4 p.m. Aug. 28 and someone threw items from the store into the van. A store employee told police that the man in the van has been stealing from the store from some time and they are reviewing tapes to determine his identity.

A small stove fire was reported at 3:18 a.m. Aug. 29 on Marsol Road. A woman said she was boiling bottles and fell asleep.

A Hawthorne Avenue man called police at 1:13 p.m. Aug. 28 and said his house was entered overnight and ransacked.

A 911 caller reported that a man and woman were fighting in a red sedan at 6:20 a.m. Aug. 28 at Marsol and Ridgeview roads. The woman came to the police station and said she was arguing with her boyfriend, who bit her on the arm. She then jumped out of the car and ran to the police station. She didn't want to pursue the matter though, and the the man had a bloody nose but refused medical attention.

Two intoxicated men were knocking over barrels after leaving a Mayfield Road bar at 1:55 a.m. Aug. 28.
