Police Blotter: Toy Gun Used in Robbery

An officer was flagged down at 10:24 p.m. Aug. 16 on Mayfield Road by a person who said a man in a white T-shirt put a gun to his back and robbed him. He fled through the Marshall Ford lot and ran behind Kinko's. Police caught the suspect and brought him back to the station for identification and the juvenile was arrested. Police said another juvenile had the victim's money and iPad. The gun used was a toy that fired blanks. Police said the victim had been with the suspect earlier as part of a larger group at McDonald's.

A man was down on the ground in front of Caribou Coffee in Golden Gate Plaza at 1:55 a.m. Aug. 18. The man was taken to Hillcrest Hospital.

A Shaker Heights woman called at 12:46 a.m. Aug. 18 and said her ex-boyfriend had her 6-month-old child on Marsol Road and would not give the child back or answer the door. The man did not answer the door for police either. She was advised that it was a civil matter.

A caller said two juveniles were walking at 1:44 p.m. Aug. 17 on Ridgeview Road and one was carrying a handgun. Police said the boy had a BB gun and it was confiscated. They were told to have their parents come to the police station with them to pick it up.
