Police Blotter: Traffic Controller Looking for Late Jet

An air traffic controller called at 11:57 p.m. July 30 about a Lear jet that was overdue for landing at Cuyahoga County Airport. The tower was closed and the caller wanted an officer to check and make sure the plane did not crash. Police were unable to locate the plane.

Richmond Heights police asked for help with a possible burglary in progress at 6:05 p.m. Aug. 3. There was a report of a man walking through back yards and the rear door of a house was open and police needed help securing the perimeter.

A male about 17 or 18 years old was selling magazine subscriptions at 6:53 p.m. Aug. 3 on Kirkshire Court. Police told a man from Michigan that he needed a permit and he picked up five people who were working for him.

A woman said a man had his hands down his pants and was walking back and forth in a Wilson Mills Road parking lot at 7:16 a.m. Aug. 3. Police arrested the man on a charge of public indecency.

A Lowell Drive man reported finding a mailbox in his tree at 11:38 a.m. Aug. 2. Police checked area streets and could not find a missing mailbox with the corresponding number address.

A caller said two men in their 20s were playing with a sewer cover at 7:55 p.m. Aug. 1 at Miner Road and Aberdeen Boulevard. The men were hired because of a sewer backup and were taking off the sewer cover to snake the line.

A woman came to the police station lobby at 4:12 p.m. Aug. 1 and reported her son was being threatened on Facebook.

A Discount Drug Mart employee called police about a man who stole alcohol at 3:03 p.m. July 31. The male was caught and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia for a syringe found in a bathroom at an area business. The theft incident is under investigation.

A truck and van marked "for sale" were left in a Wilson Mills Road parking lot. Police called the seller and left a message to call for removal of the vehicles.
