Police Blotter: Wanted Woman Tears Up Detox Room

Independence police called at 3:05 a.m. March 9 about a woman who was wanted by Highland Heights for failure to appear in court on charges for a traffic violation, driving under suspension and no operator's license. She was brought here and placed in a detox room, where she tore the molding off of the door. A charge of criminal mischief was added for that offense.
A Stanwell Drive resident said at 11:54 a.m. March 8 that she was the victim of identity theft and wanted to speak to an officer. She said the IRS called her and said someone filed a tax return using her name and Social Security number.
A suspicious silver sedan was reported in the area of Burwick Road and Aberdeen Boulevard at 8:08 p.m. March 7. A caller said the car would stop, let a person out, and then continue with the person walking behind for a house. Police checked and didn't find the car.
A woman came to the police station at 9:45 p.m. March 6 to report that her son was out of control and destructive. Police went to the Handford Drive residence and arrested the suspect for domestic violence.
A nearby resident complained at 1:35 a.m. March 2 that a Wilson Mills Road business was making too much noise with its machines. An employee told police they were just about done for the night.
A road rage incident was reported at 5:30 a.m. March 2 on Bishop Road at White Road. A man said the other driver got out of his car and broke out a car window. A second call was received from the other man, who said he was the victim of a road rage incident. Police said the incident occurred in Willoughby Hills and that department arrested one of the men.
