Police Blotter: Woman Told It's Too Late to Investigate Stolen Purse

A woman came to the police station at 5:28 p.m. Aug. 30 to report that she lost her purse a month ago at a Mayfield Road bar. She said the purse and its contents were worth $1,440 and wanted it reported for insurance purposes. Police told her no investigation could be done because the amount of time that had passed since the incident.

A woman came to the police station to file an accident report at 8:55 p.m. Aug. 31 after she hit a deer on Lander Road.

Service department workers were cutting the grass at 1:53 p.m. Aug. 31 at what was supposed to be an empty Ashcroft Drive house and noticed the back door was open.

Someone dumped paint and hazardous material behind a Golden Gate Plaza store on Aug. 30. The store wanted police to pay special attention to the area.

Fire department personnel were sent to a SOM Center Road store at 4:45 p.m. Aug. 29 for a chemical spill in a back room that made at least one employee sick.
