Police Blotter: Woman Was Just Exercising in the Rain

A caller wanted police to check on the welfare of a woman with a red umbrella who was dancing in the rain at 8:25 p.m. May 25 on Hawthorne Drive. The caller said she was concerned because there was lightning. The woman told police that she was exercising in the rain.
A Woodhurst Avenue resident called at 4:15 a.m. May 27 to report a loud party. The party dispersed before police arrived.
Cars were parked on both sides of Catalano Drive at 6:49 p.m. May 26. Police said there was a party and four cars were moved to the other side of the street.
A Mayfield Road business called at 4:20 p.m. May 26 to report that a truck driver urinated on the building. Police checked and said the suspect was not the truck driver.
A man in a black coat tried to pry open a security box at 1:47 p.m. May 26 at a SOM Center Road business. The store retrieved its merchandise, but wanted police to tell the suspect that he was banned. Police checked and said the man did not try to steal anything, he attempted to make a fraudulent return. He was arrested and charged with theft.
