Suspects Enter Guilty Pleas In Howard's Jewelry Armed Robbery Case

Two suspects in the Nov. 10 armed robbery at in Mayfield Heights pleaded guilty Tuesday in Cuyahoga Common Pleas Court.
Janelle Dowdy, 20, of Painesville, pleaded guilty to three counts of attempted abduction and one count of attempted robbery, all fourth-degree felonies. Shon Sheffey, 19, of Concord, pleaded guilty to two counts of kidnapping and one count of aggravated robbery, all first-degree felonies.
Both defendants are required to testify against two co-defendants as part of their pleas and they also agreed to share in paying $22,327.61 in restitution, according to Maria Russo, public information officer for the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office.
Sentencing for Dowdy and Sheffey was set for March 6.
Another defendant, Andre McMorris, 19, of Euclid, was referred for a psychiatric evaluation and a pre-trial hearing has been set for Thursday. An arrest warrant was issued Dec. 12 for the other person charged in the case, Vincent Murphy, 21, of Chardon.
