Tri-City Consortium Hires Social Worker for Mayfield Heights
Christina Sharron started new job on Monday

Social worker Christina Sharron is now serving Mayfield Heights residents on behalf of the Tri-City Consortium on Aging.
Her office hours at City Hall are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, although much of that time will be spent outside the office serving needs of clients. She can be reached at 440-442-2626, ext. 244.
"She will deal with the social work needs of the residents of Mayfield Heights," said Stacey O'Brien, director of the Tri-City Consortium on Aging.
Mayfield Heights recently reached an agreement to become the fourth city in the consortium, which also includes Highland Heights, South Euclid and Lyndhurst. Tri-City has been working with Mayfield Heights since the retirement of city Human Services Director Eileen Adornetti last July.
Since that time, O'Brien has been spending part of her time at Mayfield Heights City Hall. With a contract in place, the consortium hired Sharron to work in that office.
Sharron has a master's degree in social work and has worked on behalf of older adults since her May 2009 graduation from the Mandel School of Social Sciences. Most recently, she worked for the Lake County Office on Aging, providing social work and support services to older adults who wished to remain independent in their own homes.
She is also a former intern with the Tri-City Consortium on Aging.
O'Brien said Census results indicate Mayfield Heights has a significant need for services for older adults.
"Each of the four communities is very different and has different needs," she said. "They have a higher percentage of elderly residents than our other cities. They also have a higher percentage who are in poverty."
Sharron will be spending the next few weeks meeting with service coordinators of apartment buildings served by the consortium, O'Brien said.
