Tri-City Consortium on Aging now Community Partners on Aging

Name change reflects addition of Mayfield Heights.

With the addition of a fourth city in , the Tri-City Consortium on Aging's name no longer fit. So the nonprofit organization will change its name to Community Partners on Aging.

"'Community Partners on Aging' is a name that says it all," said Stacey O'Brien, Tri-City director. "I am happy to announce our new name to the community. Our mission will remain the same, with the added goal of being challenge to serve the rising numbers of older adult residents and their families in the city of Mayfield Heights."

The name changed was approved by the mayors of the four communities – Mayfield Heights, , South Euclid and Lyndhurst – but will not become official until paperwork has been approved by the state.

Tri-City began offering services to Mayfield Heights residents in August 2010. Among the four cities, Mayfield Heights trails only Lyndhurst in the percentage of residents over age 60. Mayfield Heights also has the second largest percentage of people living below the poverty level, behind South Euclid.

Community Partners on Aging services for older adults include transportation, congregate meals and programs, outreach and social services, homemaker services and volunteer opportunities. The organization is funded by members cities and through Title III of the Older Americans Act.
