Entrance to Highland Heights Community Park to be repaired

Highland Heights City Council Committee of the Whole discussed plans to repair the entrance to the city's park at cost of $95,000. Another $45,000 is planned to be spent on Woodside Road.

Personal safety film debuts at Phoenix Theatres

Hearts Without Fear, a 20-minute film about taking control and having a plan to avoid crime, had its premiere at Phoenix Theatres in Mayfield Heights. The film features personal safety specialist Pat Malone and interviews local women who were approached by criminals.

Mayfield Village has contract with nonunion employees

Mayfield Village City Council approved a three-year agreement with nonunion workers with raises of 2 percent in 2011 and 2012 and 3 percent in 2013. The village already has an agreement with the fire department, leaving police as the last employee group without a contract.
