Edelman named Mayfield Village police chief

Richard Edelman was named police chief of Mayfield Village. He was sworn in by Mayor Bruce Rinker at a village council meeting. As a result of his promotion, vacancies were created which prompted the promotions of Paul Jablonski to lieutenant and Kathryn Troyer to sergeant.

Highland Heights needs more money for gazebo

With site preparation work costing an estimated $46,000, Highland Heights City Council needs to find more money than the $50,000 budgeted for the gazebo. The gazebo itself is expected to cost about $35,000, leaving the city about $30,000 short.

Mayfield Heights Council takes mayor to court

Mayfield Heights City Council filed a complaint in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court seeking details of a 2008 lease between Mayor Gregory Costabile and Seagull Development Corporation. Costabile was part of a gas well aggregation group that signed an agreement with Seagull.
