UPDATED: Suspected Drunken Driver Injures 1 in 3-Car Crash

North Canton police responded to a three-car crash on North Main Street between Applegrove Street and Wilbur Drive Sunday evening

One person was taken to Mercy Medical Center after a three-car crash on North Main Street between Applegrove Street and Wilbur Drive about 6:50 p.m. Sunday.

 say James R. Henning, 32, of North Canton, was driving a red Ford Mustang recklessly in the parking lot of K-Mart and drove onto North Main Street and struck a blue Chevrolet Silverado truck.

The truck was then pushed into a silver Kia Optima. The crash caused the airbags in both the Mustang and the Optima to deploy.

A 47-year-old female passenger from the Chevrolet truck was taken to Mercy Medical Center for reported injuries.

Henning was arrested at the scene. He was taken to Aultman Hospital for examination and the booked at the Stark County Jail. He was charged with operation without reasonable control, a minor misdemeanor, and operating a vehicle while under the influence, a first-degree misdemeanor.

Witnesses reported a passenger in the Mustang fled from the crash on foot. The person was described as a white male, wearing blue jean shorts and a gray bandanna. Any person with information about the identity of the passenger should contact the North Canton Police Department at 330-499-5911.
