Police to Release Abduction Information This Morning

North Canton detectives are piecing together information regarding a woman who was abducted on South Main Street this week.

The is still piecing together information regarding an abduction late Monday night on South Main Street.

Police Sgt. Frank Kemp said detectives are gathering information regarding the men a 31-year-old woman said . Kemp said Thursday morning no arrests had been, but that new information would soon be available. He expected the department to release it Thursday afternoon, but later pushed the announcement back a day.

"Our detectives are still working on it," he said.

The woman escaped the van and ran to her North Main Street home, police said. She called 911 about 11:30 p.m. that night and was later taken to Aultman Hospital for injuries. Prior to that, the men, one wearing a mask, drove around with her in the van, and her face was cut during the attack.

Police later found the suspect's vehicle in theΒ 400 block of Royer Avenue NW and alsoΒ called on the Canton police and its K9 unit for help that night.
