Walsh Hosts the Commercial Attache’ of Rwanda, Nov. 1-5 as a Part of Global Entrepreneurship Week
Walsh University’s Center for Business Collaboration at the DeVille School of Business is sponsoring a five-day visit from Nov. 1-5, by Mr. Bonny Musefano the Commercial Attaché at the Embassy of Rwanda in Washington, D.C.
The event will be screened as a part of Global Entrepreneurship Week — Unleashing Ideas, Nov. 11-17.
Musefano is in Northeast Ohio to promote the economic development interest for his home country, Rwanda. During his stay, he will be visiting with representatives from Walsh University on Nov. 2, the mayor of Canton John J. Healy II, the mayor of Cleveland Frank G. Jackson, the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, Urban Bean Project, Economic Inclusion, U.S. Department of Commerce Minority Business Assistance Program, ABCD Inc, State of Ohio International Trade Division, numerous entrepreneurs from Launch House and the Cleveland Clinic. Rwanda is currently rebuilding its economy since the traumatic genocide it experienced in 1994.
Musefano’s visit is part of a project for Walsh’s undergraduate business class Management and Organizational Behavior led by Dr. Paul Dumont and Dr. Michelle Spain. Spain is the team director of "The Start of a Conversation: Walsh University and Rwanda Project" with undergraduate team members consisting of two team leaders, Elizabeth Emanuel and Marella Martin, and six team assistants, Myles Roush, John Willison, Brett Loader, Diego Yung, Natalia Vidovic and Nikola Knezevic. Musefano will meet with the project students at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 2.
Bonny Musefano was appointed the Commercial Attaché at the Embassy of Rwanda, Washington, D.C. in July 2010. Prior to his appointment in Washington, D.C., he worked with MTNRwanda, a telecommunications company as a Sales and Distribution Manager from 2005 - 2010. From 2000 to 2005, Musefano worked with the Rwanda investments and Export Authority (REIPA) as a senior officer, business advisory services, which was merged with other government development agencies into the Rwanda Development Board.
Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) takes place for one week each November throughout the globe. More than 120 countries take part in GEW and conduct a broad range of activities, events and competitions in order to unleash ideas.
