Walsh University Course to Focus on Vietnam War Era — School Seeks Participants to Share Experiences of the War and the Home Front

’s Division of Humanities will launch a service learning undergraduate course this Spring led by Assistant Professor of History, Dr. Kelly Selby.   This course will focus on the Vietnam War era experiences of both war veterans and citizens affected at home in America.  As a part of their course work, Walsh students will interview a diverse group in an effort to preserve this important component of US history.

Walsh University is seeking participants willing to share their stories of service in the Vietnam War or civilian experiences or reactions to the US involvement in the war.  Oral histories will be shared with the Library of Congress Veteran History Project and Ohio Historical Society’s Memory Project when applicable.

In efforts to avoid redundancy with the current Kent State Shooting Oral History Project, Walsh students will not interview those with personal accounts of the May 4, 1970 Kent State shootings and war protests.  Interviews will be conducted in North Canton during February and March 2012.
