Committee of the Whole Ordinance No. 59-2021

An ordinance authorizing the Mayor of the City of North Canton to enter into an agreement

with the North Canton Community Improvement Corporation for the conveyance of the real

property known as Lot 4236 in the City of North Canton, Stark County Parcel 9204669, from

the City to the North Canton Community Improvement Corporation.

 

Ordinance 59-2021 authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the North Canton Community Improvement Corporation (NCCIC) to sell the real property known as Lot 4236, Stark County Parcel 9204669, in the City of North Canton, Stark County, Ohio, that is no longer needed for municipal purposes.

 

The first reading of Ord. 59-2021 was adopted with 5 yays and 0 nays. The legislation now moves forward to a second reading.

 

Ordinance No. 60-2021

An ordinance amending Chapter 907, Street Excavations, specifically Section 907.03,

Deposit Required, of the Codified Ordinances of the City of North Canton to include

inspections costs incurred by the City as costs to be reimbursed by the permit applicant.

 

Ordinance 60-2021 requires all persons, firms, or corporations, except franchised utility companies to submit a refundable deposit in the form of a performance bond or certified check, upon obtaining a street opening permit, to ensure the restoration of the Rights of Way after project completion.

 

Other

At the beginning of the meeting, Emily Warner and Erin Burke, sophomores at Walsh University, gave a presentation to Council on their proposal on what the City can do to diminish the effects of the “gray dawn” and to encourage young adults to settle in North Canton, Ohio.

 

At the end of the meeting, Vice President Daryl Revoldt, gave a presentation on The Old Hoover Factory.
