Nail Star Customers Get Mooned, Car Break-Ins & Church Vandalism: Police Blotter

A teenage boy mooned the employees and customers inside , 116 Main St., about 5:55 p.m. Tuesday, according to a call-for-service entry for the North Canton Police Department. The entry said the boy knocked on the window, pulled his pants down and then ran away.

Garden lights smashed

A resident in the 1600 block of Halifax Way SE told police someone smashed three of his garden lights, causing $100 in damages, between midnight and 9:15 a.m. July 26.

ID badge stolen from car

Someone stole a $10 work ID badge from a car in the 300 block of Willaman Avenue NW between 11:30 p.m. July 24 and 8:33 p.m. July 25. In a separate police report, a $200 bicycle was stolen in the 300 block of Willaman Avenue NW between 11:30 p.m. July 24 and 8:33 p.m. July 25.

$2,220 in items stolen from South Main Street home

A Super Nintendo game console, metal detector, $400 cash, a police scanner and other items totaling $2,220 were stolen from a home in the 1600 block of South Main Street. The theft took place between 10 a.m. June 21 and 3:37 p.m. July 19.

Wallet stolen from car on Sunset Boulevard

A wallet containing $750 cash and credit cards was stolen fro a car in the 1100 block of Sunset Boulevard SW between 11 p.m. July 22 and 5 a.m. July 23.

Baseball bat used to smash windshield

Someone used a baseball bat to bust the windshield of a car parked in the 800 block of Applegrove Street NW between 5:10 and 5:24 a.m. July 21, causing $900 in damages.

Roof scam

A woman in the 500 block of West Maple Street told police she paid $7,100 for someone to fix her roof in October of 2011, but the person never finished the job.

Woman driving under influence with child in tow

Police pulled over a motorist in the 100 block of Applegrove Street NE for an equipment violation and discovered the motorist not only had a suspended license and was driving under the influence, but had a small child in the car.

Faith Friends Church vandalized

Three storage areas at Faith Friends Church were broken into and the walls and picnic tables spray-painted inside the pavilion between 2 p.m. July 21 and 9 a.m. July 22. A gas can was also taken and used to set fire to a portable toilet. Damage is estimated at $925.
